Allergy sufferers warned about exacerbations due to warming in Moscow

A sharp increase in the amount of pollen in the air due to warming in Moscow next week may cause an exacerbation of allergic rhinitis and bronchial asthma in allergy sufferers. Dmitry Karpenko, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Polyclinic Therapy at the Institute of Clinical Medicine at Pirogov University, warned about this on Friday, April 11.
"It should be assumed that plants will quickly respond to warming with intense flowering followed by pronounced pollen production. An increase in pollen concentration will correlate with the severity of symptoms in allergy sufferers," the specialist told the Moscow City News agency.
Karpenko added that allergy sufferers should spend as little time outside as possible in the morning during this period, as pollen concentrations reach peak levels at this time.
Earlier in the day, Evgeny Tishkovets, a specialist at the Phobos weather center, reported that next week the air temperature in Moscow will rise to +22 degrees, which is the climatic value of the beginning of summer, writes Moscow 24.
Anatoly Tsygankov, head of the Russian Hydrometeorological Service's crisis Management department, said on April 10 that the snow cover established in Moscow and the Moscow region would completely melt next week due to a sharp warming. At the same time, he stressed that precipitation in the form of snow may still fall in April and even in June.
On April 7, the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, Roman Vilfand, said that the warm weather would return to Moscow in the second half of April, writes Pravda.Ru .
