The expert gave advice on choosing a garage

Usually, a garage is purchased in order to protect cars from weather conditions, risks of damage and theft. But if you choose it incorrectly, then instead of saving the car, you can speed up its damage. Nikita Rodionov, technical director of the international franchise network of car service Fit Service, told Izvestia on April 12 what to look for when buying it.

"It is important that the garage is dry, the roof does not leak and good ventilation is provided. This is the first thing to consider when buying a garage," he stressed.

The off—season is the best time to choose a garage. Due to rising groundwater, melting snow and rains, you can see all the problems of the facility.

"There should be enough space in the garage for cars, as well as for storing necessary and related items, such as tires and tools. You should not buy garages that are too cramped, there should be about 2 m from the body of the car on all sides," the expert added.

According to him, the garage, on the one hand, helps to save the resource of all units, since there are no cold starts. But on the other hand, due to the constant temperature difference, there are risks for the body.

"It is important to monitor the condition of the paintwork and the initial manifestations of corrosion, the car will have to be washed more often," Rodionov summed up.

Earlier, on March 29, Maxim Davidenko, head of the Product and Service Development Department at Alfa-Leasing Group, told Izvestia that winter tires must be cleaned of dirt and salt before storage in order to extend their service life. It is also worth using covers — they will protect the tires from dust and UV rays, which will preserve their elasticity and shape.
