The Times assessed the scale of Britain's involvement in the conflict in Ukraine

Britain's involvement in the Ukrainian conflict has turned out to be much deeper than many could have imagined. This was reported on April 11 by The Times newspaper.
"Although Britain's unwavering support for its Eastern European ally was no secret, the extent of its involvement and influence — helping to develop battle plans and gather important intelligence information about the Russians — remained largely hidden until now," the article says.
According to the authors of the article, the kingdom played a "more significant role" in the conflict than one might have expected, and it was the British military leaders who supported the difficult relations between Kiev and Washington. The publication also recalled that the United Kingdom became the first Western country to provide Ukraine with long-range cruise missiles.
In addition, the British military was secretly sent to Ukrainian territory to equip Ukrainian planes with missiles and teach soldiers how to use them correctly. At the same time, back in February 2022, London sent several dozen British soldiers to Ukraine to train the Ukrainian military in the use of anti-tank systems supplied by the United Kingdom.
"Americans traveled to Ukraine only on rare occasions out of fear that they would be considered too involved in the conflict, unlike the British military leaders, who were given the freedom to go there when necessary. Sometimes their visits were so secret that they arrived in civilian clothes," the newspaper concluded.
Earlier in the day, British Defense Minister John Healey said at a meeting of the contact group on arms supplies to Ukraine that London would transfer an additional 350 million pounds ($448 million) to Kiev to strengthen the Ukrainian army. He specified that additional radars, anti-tank complexes and "hundreds of thousands" of drones will be provided to the Kiev regime with these funds.
The day before, The Daily Telegraph newspaper reported that the UK is considering the possibility of deploying troops in Ukraine for a period of five years, which, as specified, is being discussed by London and other partners in the "coalition of the willing."
