Georgia adheres to a peaceful and pragmatic approach in its relations with Russia, despite the existing territorial differences. This was stated on April 11 by Prime Minister of the Republic Irakli Kobakhidze, speaking at a diplomatic forum in Antalya.

"We have a peaceful vision regarding our policy towards the Russian Federation," Kobakhidze was quoted as saying by TASS.

According to him, Georgia continues to develop economic and trade cooperation with Russia, considering it as part of a common strategic approach.

Kobakhidze noted that the countries do not have diplomatic relations, but cooperation in the economic sphere contributes to strengthening stability. He stressed that Georgia pursues a peaceful policy in the South Caucasus region.

"Our small region is quite complex, there are ongoing conflicts between different countries. But Georgia has always played a very positive role in terms of strengthening peace in the region," the head of government added.

Earlier, on April 8, Kobakhidze accused the deep state of supporting the conflict in Ukraine. In addition, according to Kobakhidze, such actions occur with the financing of organizations that are engaged in "anti-state" processes. They receive money exclusively from the countries of the European Union (EU).
