Lithuania to buy ammunition for Ukraine for €20 million

Lithuania will allocate €20 million for the purchase of ammunition for Ukraine. This was announced on April 11 by the country's Defense Minister, Deauville Shakalene.
"Lithuania intends to allocate an additional €20 million to purchase cartridges for Ukraine. Currently, this is one of the main needs of her army," she told reporters upon arrival at NATO headquarters for a meeting of the contact group on arms supplies to Kiev.
Shakalene added that the implementation of this plan should be accelerated, as certain difficulties may arise during the summer period.
On March 6, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda announced that the country had offered the EU to provide more than €40 billion a year in aid to Ukraine. He added that Kiev now "really needs this amount."
