Sollers Company is developing small-scale production of metal components for cars using 3D printing. This was stated by Mikhail Guryanov, General Director of the Sollers Product Development Center, the company's press service reported on April 11.

Currently, Sollers is already widely using additive technologies in the manufacture of prototype exterior and interior parts made of plastics. This method makes it possible to significantly speed up the process of prototyping and prototyping, as well as reduce the production time of experimental parts, Guryanov noted.

The branches of the company's engineering center in Kazan and Ulyanovsk are equipped with 3D printing equipment. It is used to develop prototypes of automotive components for the current and future line of Sollers and UAZ vehicles.

Sollers showed the latest developments in the field of additive technologies in the automotive industry at the Russian Venture Forum in Kazan. Samples of automotive components of complex geometric shapes, made using 3D printing, were presented there. Among them are the air filter housing, bumper trim and headlight trim.

The day before, it was reported that applications for Sollers SF1 midsize vans starting at 1.99 million rubles had been accepted in Russia. Two versions are available to choose from — with a gross weight of 2,600 kg or 2,499 kg.

On April 2, it was announced that the Sollers Transmission Manufacturing plant had begun mass production of new manual transmissions for UAZ Profi and Sollers models. UAZ Profi semi-trailers with rear-axle drive and diesel engine will be put on the UAZ conveyor in April 2025.
