A new version of the Valdai 12 truck was introduced in Russia

In Russia, a new model of an auto-fuel tanker was introduced, made on the chassis of a Valdai 12 bonnetless truck. Such equipment is intended for transportation of light oil products, refueling of special equipment at the point of operation and households. The model will be in demand primarily in the construction and agricultural sectors, according to a statement from the Modern Transport Technologies company, which was received by Izvestia on April 11.

The model was prepared jointly with the manufacturer of special equipment RusTrak and is based on the Valdai 12 medium—size chassis (wheelbase - 3860 mm). It is noted that with a total length of 6.8 m, the maximum turning radius is 6.5 m, which is the best indicator in its class. The Valdai 12 is equipped with a YaMZ-534 diesel engine (169 hp; 662 Nm) paired with a six-speed gearbox.

The model has a fuel tank with a volume of 8 thousand liters, which is divided into two compartments. The fuel tank is filled through the upper necks, drained by gravity or using its own pump with a capacity of up to 600 liters/min. The pump is driven by the motor, through the power take—off box.

The fuel delivery unit is located in the aft part of the tanker truck, which allows fuel to be released to either side of the vehicle. The 10 m long transfer sleeve fits into an automatic drum during transportation, which simplifies the refueling process and minimizes the risk of damage to the sleeve.

In addition to the tanker, the Valdai 12 vehicles are already available for order in the variants of industrial goods, insulated and refrigerated vans, Euro platforms, on-board trucks with CMU, dump trucks, tow trucks, vacuum tanks, garbage trucks, bunkering trucks and municipal road vehicles.

On March 28, the Valdai 12 bonnetless truck received a new modification, and a compact model of a combined road vehicle (KDM) was built on its chassis. In winter, the car is used to remove snow and ice chips, treat surfaces with anti-icing reagents, and fill icy areas with sand. In the warm season, KDM carries out watering and washing of the roadway.

On March 25, a new modification of special equipment with a crane manipulator unit was presented on the basis of the Valdai 12 chassis. The vehicle is designed for transporting goods and carrying out loading and unloading operations without using additional equipment.
