- Lebedev announced a meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers on October 9 in Dushanbe.

The next meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will be held on October 9 in Dushanbe. This was announced on April 11 by the general secretary of the association Sergey Lebedev.
"It was decided to hold a regular meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers on October 9, 2025 in Dushanbe," he said at a meeting of a narrow format in Alma Ata.
Lebedev clarified that the draft agenda of the meeting included 13 issues and 17 draft documents. It is noted that the foreign ministers will make final decisions on six issues on the agenda, and if adopted, they will be submitted to the Council of Heads of State.
One of the issues concerns the awarding of the honorary title of the CIS City of Labor Glory 1941-1945, it is proposed to send it to the presidents for signing in a working manner with a view to completing the work by May 9.
"At the conciliation meeting, three issues were dropped due to the unavailability of internal government procedures. I would like to emphasize that work on these documents will continue, they remain on the agenda of the Commonwealth, they are simply postponed to a later date," Lebedev added.
This morning, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov took part in a meeting of the Council of CIS Foreign Ministers in Alma Ata. The leaders of the delegations also took a photo together against the background of national flags.
