- Iran called on the United States to value the consent of the Islamic Republic to negotiations

The United States should appreciate Iran's agreement to negotiate, despite Washington's continued aggressive rhetoric towards Tehran. This was announced on April 11 by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic, Esmail Bagai.
"With full seriousness and outright vigilance, we are giving diplomacy a real chance. The United States should appreciate the decision, despite their prevailing aggressive rhetoric," he wrote on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
Bagai clarified that Iran intends to assess the intentions of the United States at the talks on Saturday, April 12. He stressed that Tehran will "reflect and react" according to the results of the consultations.
The NourNews news agency reported on April 8 that the main negotiators at the US-Iranian meeting in Oman, scheduled for Saturday, April 12, will be Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and the US President's special envoy for the Middle East Stephen Witkoff. Oman's Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud al-Busaidi will also take part in the talks.
US President Donald Trump announced on April 7 that the American and Iranian sides are holding direct talks on the issue of Iran's nuclear issue. Later, on April 9, the American leader declared Washington's readiness to use military force against Tehran if necessary.
