India plans to cooperate with the United States in the framework of the upcoming trade agreement, which is due to be signed this fall. This was announced on April 11 by Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, speaking at the Global Technology Summit in New Delhi.

"Within a month of the change of administration [in Washington], we actually reached a conceptual agreement that we would conclude a bilateral trade agreement, that we would find a solution that would work for both sides," he said, a broadcast of the speech posted on his page on the social network X (former. Twitter).

The minister stressed that the trade negotiations that were conducted with the United States for four years during the first presidential term of Donald Trump did not lead to the signing of an agreement. However, this time, according to Jaishankar, India is determined to act quickly and actively use existing opportunities.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on February 14 that the United States and India intend to double the volume of trade between the two countries to $500 billion by 2030. According to him, New Delhi and Washington want to pay attention to oil and gas trade, as well as strengthen joint cooperation in the fields of energy, defense and modern technologies.
