"Talking about important things" on April 14 — the topic of the lesson
Passenger air transportation originated in our country at the beginning of the twentieth century. Aviation was used to transport passengers, mail and cargo. In 1923, the Russian Dobrolet Voluntary Air Fleet Society was founded. It is from him that the largest domestic airline Aeroflot traces its history. Thus, Russian civil aviation has been around for over a hundred years.
Students will talk about how civil aviation originated in Russia, what path it has traveled over more than a century of history and what role it plays in the modern life of the country within the framework of the topic "Civil Aviation in Russia".
The main objective of the lesson is to form an idea of the history and importance of civil aviation for the economic and social development of the state, as well as to get acquainted with popular professions in the field of civil aviation.
The partner of the lesson will be the Federal Air Transport Agency. Civil aviation pilot Maria Mironenko, one of the few female pilots who operates the new generation Superjet-100 (SSJ-100) passenger aircraft, will also take part in the conversation in the form of a video interview.
The lesson will last 30 minutes and will be held in a conversation format using videos, presentations and interactive tasks. Methodological materials for teachers and parents are published on the website of the Conversations about Important project.

In grades 5-7, students will discuss how people's lives have changed with the advent of airplanes and what opportunities aviation opens up for people. In addition, they will talk separately about Russian scientists involved in the development of the first airplanes and modern aircraft, as well as discuss which inventions have helped airplanes become faster and safer for passengers.
In grades 8-9, students will talk about the skills that a pilot must possess to control an airplane, helicopter, or drone. But first, the teacher organizes the viewing of the "Pilots of the Future" video. Then students will discuss which specialists work in civil aviation and where they can study to become a pilot.
In grades 10-11, the topic will continue to be discussed about the famous Russian aircraft designers Andrei Tupolev, Sergei Ilyushin and Oleg Antonov, whose developments became the basis of military and civil aviation. Then the students will complete the interactive task "Russian aircraft designers" and answer the teacher's questions.
