At least 25 people have died as a result of lightning strikes in the Indian state of Bihar. This was reported on April 10 by the Press Trust of India (PTI) agency, citing officials.

"According to a statement from the Office of the Chief Minister, 18 deaths were recorded in Nalanda, followed by two cases in Siwan and one each in Katihar, Darbhanga, Begusarai, Bhagalpur and Jehanabad," the material says.

The head of the local political party Rashtriya Janata Dal Tejashvi Yadav on the social network X (ex. Twitter) reported that on Thursday, more than 50 people died in the region due to a weather disaster.

On February 7, three children died as a result of a lightning strike that hit a school in western Burundi. Another 16 people, including 15 schoolchildren and a teacher, were injured. It was clarified that most of the injuries were serious.
