36 perpetrators of wildfires have been identified in the Trans-Baikal Territory.
Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Trans-Baikal Territory have identified 36 people responsible for forest and landscape fires since the beginning of the year. This was announced on April 11 in the department.
"Since the beginning of the year, 36 arsonists have been identified in Transbaikalia, 17 of them children. Through their fault, dead wood burned 27 times and nine forest fires occurred," the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation says.
So, on April 8, in the Uletovsky district, a shepherd lit a bonfire, which, due to strong winds, spread to dry grass and forest, covering more than 1,400 hectares. Visibility deteriorated due to smoke, traffic on the Chita – Irkutsk highway is limited. Currently, the fire is being extinguished.
A criminal case has been opened in connection with the destruction and damage of forest plantations.
In addition, a special fire protection regime and a forest emergency regime have been introduced in the Trans-Baikal Territory.
On April 9, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation reported that more than 50 natural and man-made fires had been extinguished in Transbaikalia in a day, and 43 forest fires were being extinguished in gale-force conditions. The ministry said that more than 900 people and 170 pieces of equipment are involved in extinguishing the fire.
