- FT cited disagreements with Trump as the reason for the dismissal of the US ambassador in Kiev

The reason for the dismissal of the US Ambassador to Kiev, Bridget Brink, was the growing level of her disagreements with the administration of American leader Donald Trump and President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky. This was reported on April 10 by the Financial Times newspaper, citing sources.
"Bridget Brink, the US ambassador to Ukraine, is resigning due to growing political differences with the administration of President Donald Trump. <...> Her departure also comes amid a deterioration in her working relationship with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky," the publication says.
According to the newspaper's sources, senior American officials doubt Brink's willingness to support U.S. policy towards Ukraine, and Ukrainian politicians are putting pressure on the ambassador because she treats them "too critically."
On the same day, State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce announced that Brink had left her post. According to CBS News, her resignation is caused by an unusual combination of personal and political issues, including recent staff cuts at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
