On April 10, US President Donald Trump called the footage of a helicopter crash into the Hudson River near New York terrifying. According to him, the details of the incident will be made public in the near future.

"A terrible helicopter crash on the Hudson River. It seems that six people — the pilot, two adults and three children — are no longer with us. The footage of the accident is terrifying. May God bless the families and friends of the victims. <...> In the near future, it will be announced exactly what happened and how," Trump wrote on the TruthSocial social network.

He said that the incident is being handled by U.S. Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy and his staff.

According to the New York Post (NYP) newspaper, citing law enforcement agencies, the victims of the disaster were the head of the Spanish branch of the global technology company Siemens, Agustin Escobar, and his family. The identity of the pilot, the publication added, has not yet been established.

The helicopter crash became known on April 10. According to him, the disaster occurred at about 15:15 (local time; 22:15 Moscow time). It was later reported that six people were killed in the crash. ABC News clarified that in addition to the pilot, there was a family of five tourists in the helicopter who arrived in the United States from Spain.
