During the talks in Istanbul, representatives of Russia and the United States outlined guidelines for further rounds of consultations, as well as exchanged notes consolidating the agreements reached on mutual obligations in various fields. This is stated in a document published on April 10 on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"Following the consultations, it was decided to promptly work out the proposals made. The guideline is to reach mutually acceptable solutions by the next new consultation round, the dates of which are being agreed upon," the document says.

In addition, the representatives discussed Russia's contributions to the budgets of the United Nations and some other international organizations. The Russian side also called on the United States to return six previously confiscated diplomatic properties owned by Russia.

"Russian Ambassador Alexander Darchiev emphasized the importance of urgent practical steps in this direction, including the immediate admission of Russian representatives to the facilities for inspection and damage assessment," the published material says.

In addition, the delegations raised the issue of simplifying the visa processing regime and the travel regime for diplomats of the host country.

Izvestia correspondent Igor Baldin reported on April 10 that the negotiations between the Russian Federation and the United States in Istanbul had been completed and the delegations had left the Russian Consulate General. According to him, the negotiations lasted about six hours. Russia was represented by Ambassador to the United States Alexander Darchiev, and the American delegation was represented by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Sonata Coulter. After the negotiations, Darchiev stayed at the Consulate General to inform Moscow of their results and compile a final report.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that at the talks the parties were discussing exclusively the normalization of Russian-American relations.
