Six people died as a result of a helicopter crash into the Hudson River near New York, in Jersey City. This was reported on April 10 by the Associated Press (AP), citing officials.

"All six people on board were killed, a law enforcement official said <...> on condition of anonymity," the TV channel said in a statement.

ABC News TV channel, citing sources, reported that the crash occurred during a tourist flight over the Statue of Liberty. According to him, in addition to the pilot, there was a family of five tourists in the helicopter who arrived in the United States from Spain.

Earlier, the TV channel announced three dead, after which it clarified that no one managed to survive.

According to eyewitnesses who filmed the moment of the crash, the helicopter broke apart even before falling into the river. In particular, the rotor blades and the tail section were torn off before the crash.

The causes of the helicopter crash are still unknown. Emergency services are on site.

The CBC News channel reported on the helicopter crash earlier on April 10. According to him, the disaster occurred at about 15:15 (local time; 22:15 Moscow time). Then it was clarified that there were at least five people on board, including three children.
