Helicopter crashed into Hudson River near New York City

The helicopter crashed into the Hudson River in the American city of Jersey City, located near New York City. This was reported by the CBC News channel, citing information from local authorities.

"The helicopter crashed into the Hudson River. <...> The incident occurred at about 15:15 (local time; 22:15 Moscow time. — Ed.)," the TV channel's article says.

According to local police, one person died as a result. There were at least five people on board, including three children.

Specialists are working at the scene. Additional circumstances of the crash are being established.

On April 6, a helicopter extinguishing forest fires crashed in South Korea. The aircraft crashed on a mountain in the northwestern region of Daegu. As a result of the crash, three passengers were killed, as well as the pilot.
