Andrey Ryumin, Head of the ROSSETI Group, and Saeed Al-Thayer, CEO of DEWA (UAE), discussed promising areas of cooperation and the exchange of experience in integrating renewable energy (RES) facilities into electricity supply systems and using storage systems to balance them.

According to Ryumin, who is in the UAE on a working trip, both companies "perform similar tasks — this is to increase the reliability of electricity supply to growing consumer centers, and to provide power to large power plants, including solar and wind." "As the share of renewable energy grows, effective integration of green generation into existing power supply systems becomes a separate challenge," the head of the Russian company noted, adding that ROSSETI and DEWA are considering "the possibility of in—depth cooperation on this topic."

During the conversation, Ryumin and Al-Thayer also discussed projects aimed at simplifying procedures for connecting to the grid and improving the reliability of electricity supply to consumers, as well as reducing losses during electricity transportation.

DEWA was formed in 1992 as a result of the merger of the DEC Energy Company and the Dubai Department of Water Supply. Now it is one of the largest infrastructure organizations in the UAE.
