- The FDR announced the admission of Russian judoka to the tournament at the European Championships

Russian judoka will be able to compete in the team tournament at the European Championships in Montenegro. The corresponding decision was made by the European Judo Union (EJU). This was announced on April 10 by the President of the Russian Judo Federation Sergey Soloveitchik.
"At the European Championships, as well as at the upcoming World Championships, we plan to participate in individual and team competitions. The next step should be the return of the national flag and anthem," Soloveitchik said in an interview with TASS.
He noted that the main task is to compete in international competitions in a full-fledged format, as it has always been done before: with a flag, anthem and as part of a team. Soloveitchik added that this task is gradually being fulfilled, including thanks to the support of the International Judo Federation and other national federations.
Russian judoka Armen Agayan won silver at the Grand Slam tournament on March 22 in Tbilisi. In the final of the weight category up to 73 kg, the athlete could not defeat the representative of Georgia, Lasha Shavdatuashvili. The bronze medal was shared by Samuel Gassner, representing Austria, and Italian Leonardo Valeriani.
