Austria pointed to the possibility of cooperation between Russia and the United States against the background of Trump's duties

Against the background of a fundamental change in US customs policy, economic cooperation between Russia and the United States may resume. Austrian geopolitical analyst Patrick Poppel told Izvestia about this on April 10.

"In other words, we are actually witnessing a departure from Europe towards possible economic cooperation with Russia. This is due to the fact that Europe has always been a natural rival of the United States. The Europeans were simply used when it was needed. And when they are no longer needed, they look for a new ally. This is the pragmatic style of action of the American administration," he said.

According to the analyst, the duties imposed by US President Donald Trump will have a negative impact on many sectors of the economy. Poppel also added that China is currently the main competitor of the United States. In this regard, the American side will try to "pull Russia out of China's orbit" for further cooperation between the states.
