Forecasters predicted cloudy weather and light snow over the weekend in Moscow

On the weekend of April 12 and 13, mostly cloudy weather awaits Muscovites. On Saturday, forecasters predict light snow in the afternoon, but no precipitation is expected on Sunday. This follows from the data of the Yandex.Weather service, which Izvestia reviewed on April 11.

It will be cloudy in Moscow on Saturday, April 12, with light snow expected in the afternoon. Gusts of moderate north-westerly wind will reach 4.5 m/s. In the morning, the temperature will be +1 degree, in the afternoon it will remain at +2...+4 degrees, and by night it will drop to +1 ...+2 degrees.

"In cities near Moscow, such as Odintsovo, Podolsk, Lyubertsy, Vidnoye and Domodedovo, the temperature during the day will be about + 2 degrees," the service said.

In Smolensk, the daily precipitation record was broken, in Moscow, snowdrifts did not reach historical values.

On Sunday, April 13, according to Yandex Weather, it will be cloudy in Moscow, with no precipitation expected during the day. The temperature in the morning will be +2...+3 degrees, in the afternoon it will rise to +5...+6 degrees, and at night it will remain at +1...+2 degrees.

"A light wind is expected, gusts will reach 2.9 m/s in the morning. In the central districts of the capital (Tverskaya, Arbat, Tagansky, Yakimanka), the temperature will be 1 degree higher throughout the day than in other parts of the city," Yandex Weather said.

In the Moscow region, according to experts, conditions will remain similar to those in the capital: no precipitation is expected throughout the day, and the temperature will be at the Moscow level or a maximum of 1 degree lower.

Earlier, on April 10, Andrey Kochne, head of the Alfa-Leasing Group's motor transport department, told Izvestia about the risks of using summer tires in snowfall. The specialist noted that an insufficient number of slats on summer tires reduces braking performance and increases the risk of skidding. He recommends, if possible, to abandon trips in such conditions or consider the option of a temporary return to winter tires.
