Experts have named the amount of Russians' spending on preparations for Easter

The average spending rate for Easter in the country is 2.5 thousand rubles. The main expense item is the purchase of ingredients: eggs, cottage cheese, dried fruits, sour cream. At the same time, 32% of Russians plan to spend up to 1,000 rubles on jewelry, and 36% are completely focused on an amount in the region of 500 rubles, according to the results of a study of the Orange loyalty service, which was reviewed by Izvestia on April 11.
Experts found out that 69% of Russians surveyed plan to buy ready-made cakes in the store. Half of the respondents plan to purchase or cook more than three cakes, a third (36%) — two cakes and 17% — one. Only 4% of the respondents refused Easter cakes.
"45% of respondents were in favor of buying ready-made egg decorations (paints, thermal stickers, decoupage). The main arguments are aesthetic considerations and time savings. In 2025, Russians began to actively show interest in choosing natural dyes for dyeing: onion husks, karkade, carrots. In general, more than half of the respondents answered that they do not buy store-bought pigments. More than 40% explained the choice of economy, and 20% — for reasons of health and aesthetics," the results of the study say.
At the same time, a third of the respondents expect to save from 20% on purchases by Easter by monitoring discounts and favorable offers in loyalty services.
Earlier, on April 5, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the State University of Education Irina Lyalina told Izvestia that Easter cakes should not be bought at spontaneous markets without documents, in stores where there are no storage conditions, or from private sellers without information about the composition and date of manufacture. In addition, festive treats containing margarine should be avoided.
