The Zaporizhia Regional Court has issued a guilty verdict in the case of high treason against a local resident who transferred funds to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on April 10 by the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Crimea.

According to the investigation, in May 2023, a woman transferred 2.4 thousand hryvnias (about 6 thousand rubles) through a mobile application from his mother-in-law's account to the account of a foreign bank used by the special services of Ukraine. It is specified that the funds were intended to support the units in which her son participates.

"The actions of the convict were stopped by law enforcement officers," the Telegram channel of the supervisory authority clarified.

The court sentenced the woman to 14 years of imprisonment in a general regime colony with subsequent restriction of freedom for one year.

On April 9, the Kherson Regional Court sentenced a local resident to nine years in prison in a case of treason and espionage. It was noted that the 19-year-old convict was a citizen of Ukraine until July 2023.
