The maximum period of stay of foreign citizens in Russia on an electronic visa will be increased from 16 days to 30. This was announced on April 10 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

"For the second year, residents of 64 countries have been receiving a single electronic visa. During this time, it has been issued over 1 million times. Today we will consider a change in legislation that will increase the length of stay under it. Now it will be 30 days instead of 16," Mishustin said at a government meeting.

The head of government added that the validity period of a single electronic visa will increase to 4 months. He stressed that this would allow tourists to get to know the nature and culture of Russia better, and would also help to increase the number of business contacts with representatives of other countries.

On April 1, it became known that the draft law on extending the period of stay of foreigners in Russia on an electronic visa was approved by a government commission. In the original version, its validity period was planned to be extended to three months.
