ROSSETI and the UAE expand energy cooperation

Andrey Ryumin, Head of the ROSSETI Group, and Sharif Al-Olama, Deputy Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the UAE, discussed the possibilities of developing Russian-Emirati relations in the fields of traditional and new energy in Dubai. The parties agreed to establish a working group for the exchange of experience, the press service of the Russian company reported.
"Our countries have accumulated extensive experience in implementing technologically complex projects related to the creation of power supply schemes for modern megacities. This may be of mutual interest. The issues of meeting the growing consumption using energy storage and renewable energy solutions are relevant. We are also open to cooperation in the field of digital and innovative technologies," emphasized Andrey Ryumin.
The participants of the working group will discuss the issues of connecting renewable energy (RES) facilities and energy-intensive consumers, such as data centers, to the network. In addition, the parties will share their experience in using energy storage systems, implementing digital transformation projects, and other topics.
Russian and UAE projects in the trade, economic and humanitarian fields have been actively developing in recent years, Rosseti emphasized. The UAE's decision to join BRICS opens up new opportunities for cooperation. The electric power industry is one of the promising areas of cooperation, the company said.
