In Russia, it was proposed to ban employers from holding clean-up days

Anton Orlov, Director of the Institute for the Study of Modern Politics (IIPSP), appealed to Anton Kotyakov, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation, with a request to assess the possibility of prohibiting employers from conducting clean-up days with the mandatory participation of employees. Izvestia learned about this on April 11.
"I ask you to assess the possibility of introducing a legislative ban on employers holding clean—up days with the mandatory participation of employees of organizations and on making this requirement in the collective agreement," the appeal says.
Orlov noted that companies and various enterprises often involve employees in activities aimed at engaging in socially useful work (garbage collection, landscaping). This happens despite the absence of the concept of "clean-up day" in labor legislation and the existence of a direct ban on forced labor in art. 4 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation.
"Currently, many private and state-owned enterprises prefer to use the labor of their employees instead of hiring specialized services, and heads of educational institutions involve students and students in such events. Refusal to participate in clean—up activities in practice often leads to a variety of sanctions, from verbal condemnation and withholding bonuses to non—renewal of an employment contract, that is, actual dismissal without explanation," the author of the letter clarified.
According to him, a loophole in the legislation is used as a reason for exploiting employees on weekends, allowing such a provision to be included in the collective agreement, which establishes the obligation for employees to participate in such events.
Earlier, on March 19, it was reported that 27% of Russians surveyed were satisfied with their work. Another 28% tend to have a positive assessment of their activities. At the same time, 21% of respondents are rather dissatisfied, and 13% have a negative attitude towards her. This is stated in the results of a study of the services "Work.<url>" and "SberPodbor". The main factors of job satisfaction were the balance between professional and personal life (58%), positive management ratings (47%), salary level (42%) and interesting tasks (39%).
