A technician at the Moscow Zoo died after being bitten by a venomous snake. This was announced on April 10 by a source of Izvestia.

According to the source, a viper snake bit a 35-year-old man when he went into the terrarium to feed the reptile.

It is specified that the man lost consciousness due to anaphylactic shock. He died of cardiac arrest before he could get to the medical facility by ambulance.

Asp snakes (or asps) are a family of venomous snakes consisting of 384 species. The bite of large asps is a deadly danger to humans: their venom is dominated by neurotoxins, which quickly provoke depression of the nervous system, primarily respiratory tract paralysis.

In November last year, in the Khabarovsk Territory, a man died in the taiga after being attacked by a tiger. The investigative Department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation for the region has launched a procedural check on this fact.
