A new road sign may appear in Russia

The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation will study proposals on the expediency of introducing a new road sign "Beginning of a new lane" indicating the further direction of movement. With its application, the signs 5.15.1...5.15.8 can be combined into one. This follows from the response of the Ministry of Transport to State Duma deputy Yaroslav Nilov. The parliamentarian published the document in his Telegram channel on April 10.

"The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation informs about its readiness to work out, in accordance with the established procedure, with federal executive authorities proposals on the expediency of introducing this sign as part of the approval procedure for preparing the next changes to traffic regulations," the ministry said in a statement.

The timing of the appearance of such signs in traffic regulations and on roads is not specified.

On April 8, it was reported that the Russian government did not support the bill, which proposed to increase the limit of insurance payments for CTP. His review presents the position of the Central Bank, according to which this measure will require an increase in basic insurance rates by 10% for all car owners, which will endanger the solvency of insurers and reduce the availability of CTP.
