Lavrov laid flowers at the Eternal Flame in Alma Ata

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov laid flowers at the Eternal Flame at the Memorial of Glory in Alma Ata, Kazakhstan, on Thursday, April 10.

The memorial is located in the Park of 28 Panfilov Guards. Lavrov laid scarlet roses, bowed and honored the memory of the heroes with a minute of silence.

The event was also attended by Deputy Foreign Ministers of the Russian Federation Mikhail Galuzin and Alexander Pankin, Russian Ambassador Alexey Borodavkin, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu, granddaughter of General Ivan Panfilov and Director of the Military Historical Museum of the city Alua Baykadamova.

Lavrov arrived in Alma Ata on April 9. The next day, the minister met with Nurtleu and stated that preparations for the establishment of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Aktau had reached the finish line.

In addition, the Russian Foreign Minister will take part in a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM). He will hold a separate meeting with the heads of foreign ministries of the Central Asian countries.
