At Omsk airport, customs officers found a dried crocodile head in the luggage of a Russian who arrived from Thailand. This was announced on April 10 by the Federal Customs Service (FCS).

"The man said that he had bought a "souvenir" for his personal collection, but did not know about the need to declare and provide permits," the department's Telegram channel says.

It is specified that the remains of the animal were discovered using X-rays. Later, the examination confirmed that the head is real.

Administrative cases have been initiated against the man for non-compliance with prohibitions and restrictions and non-declaration of goods. The offender faces a fine and confiscation of the goods.

Earlier, in September, the Federal Customs Service reported the discovery of colonies of live ants in parcels that were sent from Thailand to Moscow. According to the declaration, the contents of the boxes consist of "children's toys and cookies." However, during the scan, the inspectors found incubators with various species of ants.
