The state visit of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Russia is scheduled for the autumn of this year. This was stated on April 10 by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic Murat Nurtleu during a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov.

The head of the Kazakh ministry clarified that preparations for the visit had already begun.

During the meeting, Lavrov noted that Moscow expects Tokayev to arrive at the Victory Day Parade on May 9. The parties confirmed that the bilateral relations between the states are developing steadily and are friendly.

"Our relations are characterized by strong trust, active trade, economic and investment cooperation. They are based on friendship of peoples and comprehensive cooperation," the Kazakh Foreign Minister stressed.

Tokayev had a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on March 6. The leaders noted the dynamic development of interstate relations based on the spirit of good neighborliness, friendship and alliance.
