A "Children's profile" appeared in VK Video

VK Video, together with VK ID, is launching the Children's Profile, a tool that helps children access an individual selection of age—appropriate educational and entertaining video content, the VK press service reported on April 10.
The Children's Profile on VK Video provides access to thousands of ad-free content libraries: cartoons, family films and TV series, videos and shows from bloggers, and interactive content.
"Secure search and parental control functions are provided. The system filters content by age categories (0+, 6+, 12+, 16+). The browsing history is linked to the children's profile and does not mix with the main account. Children cannot switch to the adult profile without a PIN code. You can manage profiles and edit settings through your VK ID personal account on mobile devices and Smart TV. Parents can create up to three child profiles by setting up the necessary age restrictions," the message says.
Product Director Evgeny Vasiliev noted that the "Children's Profile" is a systematic development of the functionality of the "Children's Mode". Previously, the focus was on basic access restrictions, but now users get advanced features: age adjustment of content, tracking of browsing history, as well as additional parental control tools.
"We strive to make VK services more flexible and personalized for families with children," he stressed.
Ivan Smirnov, Director of the Ecosystem Services business unit, said that new features will be gradually added to his personal account. Also, over time, "Child Profiles" will be launched in other VK services.
The Children's Profile is available in the VK Video app on iOS and Android mobile devices, as well as on Smart TV and Android TV. It will appear in other VK services in the future.
Earlier, on April 4, it was reported that VK Video and YouTube became the most popular and visited video hosting sites in Russia in March. Rutube video hosting is in third place in popularity among the audience.
