A criminal case on abuse of office was opened against the deputy head of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Pskov region. This was announced on April 10 by the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region.
The investigation found that in November last year, the defendant gave his subordinates, inspectors of the Opochetsky department of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, an illegal instruction to stop checking a car that was carrying oversized cargo exceeding the permissible dimensions and did not have the appropriate permission.
A criminal case was opened against the deputy chief under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Abuse of official authority").
"A complex of investigative actions is being carried out in the criminal case aimed at collecting and securing evidence <...>," the department's Telegram channel says.
On April 9, a Ufa court arrested the head of the Federal Penitentiary Service for the Republic of Bashkortostan in a case of abuse of authority. It was established that in November last year, the accused demanded that the heads of the department collect more than 3 million rubles from the bonuses of subordinates for representative needs. The employees who were under his command collected the money and handed it over to those responsible for storage. FSB investigators and operatives have revealed the fact of illegal enrichment.
