Andrey Loginov has been appointed Rector of the Russian State University of Economics

Andrey Loginov has been appointed Rector of the Russian State University for the Humanities (RGGU), who has served as the head of this educational institution since 2024. This was announced on April 10 by the Russian Ministry of Education and Science.

"Andrey Viktorovich Loginov has been appointed rector of the Russian State University for the Humanities," the ministry's Telegram channel wrote.

Earlier, Loginov was the head of the Office of the President of the Russian Federation for Internal Policy, the Plenipotentiary representative of the Government of Russia in the State Duma, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Government of the Russian Federation, State Secretary - Deputy Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation.

He was awarded the Order of Alexander Nevsky, the Order of Honor and many other awards from the state and public organizations.

Earlier, on June 20, 2024, the rector of the Russian State University of Economics, Alexander Bezborodov, announced a plan to resign from his post on June 21 at his own request. He has been the head of the Department of Modern Russian History at the Historical and Archival Institute of the Russian State State University since 1998. From 2013 to 2016, he served as the university's Vice-rector for Academic Affairs. In 2018, he became the head of this higher educational institution.
