- Turkey declares non-interference in the negotiations between Russia and the United States

The Turkish authorities have stated that Ankara will not interfere in the negotiations between Russia and the United States, which are taking place in Istanbul, and are counting on the outcome of the meeting. This was reported to RIA Novosti on April 10 by the administration of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
"We do not interfere in the process, find out the details from the negotiators themselves. We only hope that these negotiations in Turkey will bring concrete results," the source said.
Erdogan's office added that there are no plans for meetings with delegations from Russia and the United States in the president's program today.
Earlier in the day, representatives of Russia and the United States began negotiations at the Russian Consulate General in Istanbul. It is noted that the restoration of diplomatic cooperation will be discussed at the closed meeting.
On April 3, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that Russia and the United States had achieved some success in eliminating bilateral irritants in their relations, but it was premature to talk about significant breakthroughs. According to him, work on important aspects in relations between Moscow and Washington is currently focused on simplifying the visa process and improving the mechanisms of mutual travel.
