The underground drug laboratory was liquidated in St. Petersburg


The police liquidated an underground laboratory for the production of the synthetic drug mephedrone, which operated in the Nevsky district of St. Petersburg. This was announced on April 10 by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.
"A laboratory for the production of synthetic drugs, a powdered substance and cans of liquid with a total volume of more than 5,000 liters were found," Wolf said in her Telegram channel.
Also, more than 43 kg of a ready-made narcotic substance was seized from the premises, which, according to the examination data, turned out to be mephedrone. A 39-year-old man has been detained, who is accused of drug trafficking.
Investigators have opened a criminal case under Part 5 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal production, sale or shipment of narcotic drugs on an especially large scale"). The maximum penalty under this article is 20 years in prison.
On March 19, Volk reported that in the Leningrad Region, law enforcement agencies had liquidated a drug laboratory in which intruders were producing methadone. During the searches, 23 packages with a white substance with a total weight of more than 28 kg, canisters with chemical reagents and precursors, and laboratory equipment were seized.
