Serbia's potential sanctions against Russia could cost the state at least €15 billion, and the country could be in danger of destruction due to such spending. This was announced on April 10 by Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia Alexander Vulin.

"If we had followed the EU's unreasonable and hysterical policy towards Russia, Serbia would have directly lost at least €15 billion, and no one in the EU would even think about reimbursing it," he told TASS.

According to Vulin, potential Serbian sanctions would not only not harm Russia, but would also destroy Serbia itself. He also added that his government is not ready to allocate funds for the Ukrainian conflict.

In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia emphasized the contribution of the Russian Federation to the fight against Nazism. He stated that Serbia is not a "nation of cowards" and therefore will never betray or forget Russia's sacrifice to ensure the freedom and security of the Serbian people during the war against the Ottoman Empire and in the First and Second World Wars. Vulin noted that Russia is "the only strong ally" for his country.

In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister said that Serbia would not block the broadcasting of Russian media on the territory of the state.

"All European media outlets, as well as Russian, Chinese, Ukrainian and Belarusian ones, are freely viewed in Serbia, and no one's property is going to be confiscated under any pretext," Vulin stressed.

During a meeting with Vulin on March 22, Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu noted Belgrade's steadfastness in refusing to join anti-Russian sanctions. He said that Russia values the existing relations with Serbia.

On March 8, Vulin said that the West was using the protests of students and oppositionists in Serbia to further push Belgrade against Moscow. He clarified that the protests taking place in the country are aimed at overthrowing the government and establishing a new government that will impose sanctions against the Russian Federation.
