The solemn ceremony of awarding the Orders of Suvorov and Zhukov to the 11th Separate Guards Airborne Assault Brigade for heroism, courage and bravery took place in Ulan-Ude.

"Today is a really big holiday. Today, the 11th brigade has two awards, which the brigade has won through the courage, heroism of soldiers and officers, indeed, in battles. Since the beginning of the special military operation, in 2022, the brigade has had to carry out tasks in the most difficult areas," said the acting commander of the Airborne Forces, Major General Sergei Chubarykin.

He independently attached the awards to the banner of the St. George banner of the unit and congratulated the brigade on reaching new heights.

Soldiers of the 11th Separate Guards Airborne Assault Brigade participated in combat operations in Afghanistan, the North Caucasus and the Syrian Arab Republic. Now they are doing their duty in the special military operation zone, where they are opposing Ukrainian militants.

In total, more than 4,500 military personnel of the unit were awarded state and departmental awards, and six paratroopers were awarded the honorary title of Hero of the Russian Federation.

An example of the courage of the 11th brigade was Operation Potok, which was carried out during the liberation of the city of Sudzha. Then the soldiers passed through more than 15 km of the pipeline, which had a diameter of 140 cm, and struck the enemy's rear.

The paratroopers of the formation do not stop there and continue to carry out all the tasks assigned to them in their combat zone, while showing courage and heroism.
