Teenagers desecrated the memorial with Eternal Flame in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk
A group of teenagers desecrated the memorial with the Eternal Flame on the Square of Glory in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, a criminal case has been opened. This was announced on April 9 by the press service of the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region.
"According to the investigation, in April of this year, on the territory of Glory Square in the city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Sakhalin Region, a group of teenagers committed acts aimed at desecrating the symbol of memory of those who died during the Great Patriotic War — the Eternal Flame," the agency said in a Telegram channel.
It is clarified that a criminal case has been opened into the incident under Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Rehabilitation of Nazism"). The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, requested from the head of the regional SU of the Investigative Committee, Belikto Bazarov, a report on the preliminary and final results of the investigation of the relevant case.
On April 9, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Chuvashia reported that a criminal case had been opened in Cheboksary against three minors aged 16 and 17 after they desecrated the Eternal Flame at the monument of Military Glory. It was noted that at the moment the circumstances of the incident are being established, as well as investigative measures are being carried out.
