Bloomberg pointed to the almost complete dependence of the United States on Chinese electronics

Electronics and some other Chinese goods are the main ones in the American market, and in this regard, the mutual duties imposed by the states may adversely affect consumers from the United States. This was reported on April 9 by Bloomberg with reference to the analysis of the US International Trade Commission for 2024.

According to statistics, about 90% of all video game consoles that are shipped to the United States are manufactured in China. In addition, more than 70% of smartphones, 66% of laptops and almost 100% of Chinese-made toasters and alarm clocks fill the American markets.

In 2024, China also supplied 80% of all consumed scandium and yttrium to the United States. In addition, almost all the wool from badgers and other animals and many other goods consumed by Americans are produced in China, the publication added.

According to the agency, such a high level of U.S. dependence on Chinese manufacturers is likely to have a negative impact on American consumers and businesses.
