Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitzo intends to visit the cities near Moscow, where the Red Army counteroffensive began in December 1941, the politician said in an interview with Izvestia.

"As we know, on December 6, 1941 began an active counter-offensive of the Red Army against the German troops. And this counter-offensive was very successful. So I would love to visit the cities near Moscow, where all this took place," Robert Fitzo told Izvestia.

He also intends to take part in the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in Moscow, including laying wreaths at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

"No one will stop me. The only thing that can stop me is illness, but I hope that won't happen. And so I am very happy that I will have the opportunity - if the protocol allows me, of course, because I do not know what will be allowed there - to lay wreaths at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier or other significant monuments in Moscow on the occasion of the end of the Second World War," Fitzo said.

Earlier it became known that Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitzo will come to Moscow with a large delegation on May 9 to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory. Apart from him, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and President of Republika Srpska (an entity within Bosnia and Herzegovina) Milorad Dodik are planning to visit Russia.
