The existing mortgage programs in Russia are planned to be preserved

The existing mortgage programs in Russia are planned to be preserved and expanded, but there are no plans to launch new programs. This was told by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin in an interview with Izvestia.
"First of all - it will be the extension of family mortgage measures, because for the budget such benefits are very expensive. No matter what the rate is, a person still pays only 6%, and the difference is reimbursed to banks by the state. This year this figure will definitely exceed Br1 trillion at today's key rate. Therefore, the first and the most important measure is to keep the assumed obligations and pay interest on mortgage loans to banks. Through this measure, we want to keep the bar for those who have already received loans," he said.
He also noted that it is planned to increase the pace of mortgages in new territories.
"The most important thing today is to create conditions so that people who have invested in housing know that this housing will be completed. Accordingly, it is also necessary to support developers so that they do put this housing, as today they have a growing cost of credit resources and there are risks of not building houses. We are also considering other stimulating measures, for example, installments from developers. If they want to give it today for already commissioned houses, for sold apartments, we are working on measures to protect them. We are also considering various issues of tax relief," said Deputy Prime Minister.
