- Trump declared the readiness of the United States to use force against Iran if necessary.

The United States is ready to use military force against Iran if necessary, American leader Donald Trump said on Wednesday, April 9, during a conversation with reporters at the White House.
"If it is necessary, then yes," he replied when asked about the possibility of military action if Iran abandons the nuclear deal.
Trump also allowed the possibility of reducing the size of the US Armed Forces in Europe. According to him, this will be one of the topics discussed during the negotiations.
"It depends on the circumstances. We pay for the military in Europe. We don't get much compensation [from Europe], nor from South Korea. So this will be one of the non—trade-related topics that we will discuss, and I think we will make it part of the [trade negotiations]," the American president said.
In addition, according to Trump, the United States possesses "the most powerful weapons in the world," which no one has even the slightest idea about.
"We have weapons that no one has the slightest idea about. This is the most powerful weapon in the world that we have, it's even more powerful than anyone else," he said, without specifying which weapon he was referring to.
Speaking about the conflict in Ukraine, the American leader expressed hope for a peace agreement between Moscow and Kiev.
In addition, the head of the US administration noted that in the future he may meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. At the same time, the American leader did not specify when this meeting would take place.
"At some point— yes. At some point. We'll see. We have to get there right now," Trump said in response to a journalist's question about his likely meeting with the Russian leader in Saudi Arabia.
On April 8, US Secretary of Energy Chris Wright told CBC television that the US would impose tough sanctions on Iran if the country did not agree to the nuclear deal. According to him, the United States cannot allow the Islamic Republic to have nuclear weapons.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said at a briefing on April 9 that the Iranian authorities were taking the necessary protective measures in the form of putting the country's armed forces on high alert due to Trump's harsh rhetoric about the outbreak of hostilities.
