Zakharova explained Macron's statements by changes in atmospheric pressure.

The contradictions in the words of French President Emmanuel Macron, who first proposed negotiations with Moscow on behalf of Europe, and then spoke about the need to protect Europe from Russia with French nuclear weapons, are most likely caused by changes in atmospheric pressure or natural phenomena. This statement was made on April 9 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
"Macron's statements depend either on atmospheric pressure, maybe on natural phenomena, I don't know," Zakharova said in an interview with the Moscow-24 TV channel.
She recalled that Macron initially spoke about the need for his presence at the negotiating table with Russia, but after that he began to declare the possibility of "sending his contingents somewhere" and promoting rhetoric about nuclear weapons and that "they are ready to defeat and defeat everyone."
In his address to the nation on March 5, Macron stated that he intends to discuss the use of nuclear weapons in order to protect the entire European Union (EU). He called on the EU to provide itself with the largest amount of military equipment and build up defense capabilities "for the sake of peace itself." According to him, Russia has allegedly become a threat to France and Europe in the coming years.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called the French president's statement about the Russian threat to Europe confrontational. He noted that Macron's speech can hardly be perceived "as a speech by a head of state who thinks about the world."
