French President Emmanuel Macron has announced that the country may recognize the state of Palestine this summer. He announced this on April 9 on the France 5 TV channel.

"Our goal is to chair a conference with Saudi Arabia sometime in June, at which we could finalize the movement for mutual recognition by several countries," La France newspaper quoted Macron as saying.

On March 8, Reuters reported that the foreign ministers of France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom supported the Arab countries' plan for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, which will cost $ 53 billion and avoid the displacement of Palestinians from the enclave. Earlier, this plan was rejected by US President Donald Trump.
