- The Romanian Foreign Ministry called the unjustified expulsion of two of its diplomats from the Russian Federation

The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs considered Moscow's decision to expel two Romanian diplomats from Russia to be unjustified.
"This measure by the Russian side is unjustified in relation to the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961," RIA Novosti quoted the Romanian foreign ministry as saying.
Earlier in the day, it became known that Russia was expelling two Romanian diplomats in retaliation. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Charge d'affaires of Romania to the Russian Federation Liliana Burdabila was presented with a note from the Ministry declaring the defense attache at the Romanian diplomatic mission in Moscow and his deputy persona non grata.
On the same day, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Liliana Burda to the Department of State Protocol.
Prior to that, in February, the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Elena Kopnina, Charge d'affaires of the Russian Federation, after the discovery of drone debris on the territory of the republic. She was strongly condemned in connection with the alleged "repeated violation of the airspace" of the republic.
