Red Army troops have completed the complete encirclement of Berlin, with all routes out of the city cut off, the Izvestia newspaper reports.

"Participants and witnesses of the great march of the Soviet troops on Berlin will remember the dawn on the banks of the Oder River until the end of their days, when thousands of guns exploded, heralding the beginning of a crushing blow. Many times I had to watch how the Red Army advanced, how powerful forces inexorably fell on the enemy. But such an overwhelming amount of military equipment has never been seen before," writes a special military correspondent of the publication.

There were exactly 15 days left until the Great Victory.

Soviet vehicles marched on Berlin day and night along dozens of roads, stretching for tens of kilometers.

The material was published as part of the Izvestia special project "80 days to Victory."
