Soviet aircraft launched a massive attack on Berlin

On the night of April 21, our heavy bombers launched a massive attack on military installations in Berlin, the Izvestia newspaper writes. As a result, there were many large fires, accompanied by strong explosions.
"Soviet infantrymen and tankers, operating in difficult conditions of a wooded and swampy area, advanced 30-40 kilometers with battles and stormed the city of Lukkau," the newspaper reports.
There were exactly 18 days left until the Great Victory.
Other units occupied the towns of Neu-Veltsov and Zenftenberg as a result of fierce street fighting. In this area, Soviet pilots bombed and machine-gunned columns of German troops. The enemies, abandoning more than 500 vehicles and a lot of weapons, fled through the forests.
The material was published as part of the Izvestia special project "80 days to Victory."
