- The Pentagon announced the absence of a decision on the US military presence in Europe.

The American side has not yet developed a plan for a further US military presence in Europe. This was announced on April 9 by Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth at a joint press conference with Panama's Minister of Public Security Frank Abrego. The broadcast was conducted on the Pentagon's website.
Hegseth noted that the only person who will make a decision regarding the American armed forces on the European continent is the President of the United States, Commander—in-Chief Donald Trump.
"We will continue to discuss, including in the context of negotiations with Ukraine and Russia, what should be the alignment of our forces on the continent," the Pentagon chief stressed.
Bloomberg reported on March 6 that the armies of the European Union (EU) countries could hold out for several weeks at best without the help of the United States due to a shortage of troops, air defense systems and ammunition.
According to the newspaper, a complete withdrawal of American troops from European countries is unlikely, but a reduction in the presence of the United States will significantly affect the continent's defense capability.
